DASH Shuttle

The free Downtown Area Shuttle (DASH) connects the San Jose Diridon Caltrain Station with VTA Light Rail stations, downtown office buildings, McEnery Convention Center and San Jose State University.

DASH shuttles operates from 6:30 am until 9 pm Monday through Friday, except on major holidays.

  • 6:30 am – 7 pm, runs every 5-15 minutes
  • 7 pm – 9 pm, runs every 30 minutes

All shuttles are lift-equipped and accessible to people with disabilities. Bikes are allowed on DASH when space is available.

Valley Transportation Authority Light rail and Buses

VTA light rail runs every 10 minutes weekdays, and every 15 minutes on weekends and holidays, making several stops in downtown. The VTA light rail routes are on the parking map.

Caltrain

Caltrain connects downtown San Jose to other Bay Area cities, from Gilroy to San Francisco.

The San Francisco and San Jose Railroad Company began passenger rail service on the Peninsula in 1863. The system we know today as Caltrain had its start in 1992, when the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board took over the operation of the train.

The Altamont Commuter Express

The Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) has connected San Jose with Fremont, the Pleasanton-Livermore area, and across the Altamont Pass into Manteca and Stockton since 1998.
